Nine independent readers ranked what defeated them; 19-27 are what they found, ordered ahead of 6, 7 and 10 because each is cheaper before HTML lands. 17 drops its cyclomatic half - the metric's two worst functions went unnamed by all nine readers, and two it flags were volunteered as the clearest code in the repo.
